The Importance of Biblical and Theological Education
Recognizing the importance of well-trained leaders for the congregations and ministries in Israel and Palestine, the JGP education task force aims at encouraging and equipping the leaders of congregations in Israel and Palestine for the sake of their growth in Scriptural knowledge, character, and service (1 Timothy 4:15-16). Since our partners in the Middle East are the ones best equipped to actually minister to the people of their own local context, the JGP seeks to facilitate training that will be useful to local leadership as they minister and train others to do the same.
The Haifa Theological Institute (HTI) is a formal theological and ministerial program offered in conjunction with the JGP in Haifa. HTI offers a three-year program leading to a Certificate in Biblical Studies. It is conducted in Russian and also offers online courses. Additionally, the JGP facilitates marriage and family life seminars in local congregations.
Nazareth Evangelical Theological Seminary (NETS) is an independent, inter-denominational evangelical seminary primarily serving the northern part of Israel. NETS offers a Bachelor of Theology, Bachelor of Divinity, and a Master of Theology in Applied Theology. NETS also seeks to promote theological research and writing, focusing on Islamics, Judaism, Contemporary Judaism, as well as Holy Land Studies and Reconciliation Ministry. The JGP seeks to encourage the growth of NETS and its ministry to the believers in northern Israel in particular.
Informing the North American Church
Additionally, the JGP seeks to educate the North American church about the church and ministry in the Middle East, with the intent to promote not only biblical understanding of the difficulties in the region, but also a listening attitude toward believers from any cultural background. If you are interested in having a JGP representative contact you about speaking to your church or group about ministry in the Middle East, please contact us.
